Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are a favorite flower of many due to their beautiful, extravagant, season-long blooms.

Whether you're wanting a beautiful plant to enjoy outside or you want to decorate your inside with fresh cuts, make sure to give your plant and blooms plenty of water. At the end of the season, you can also cut blooms, place them in water in a cool spot in your home and they will dry close to the color they were when they first bloomed on the plant. Then use your dried hydrangea heads for decorating all year long.

There are six varieties of hydrangeas that can be found in gardens around the United States.

FUN FACTS

Did you know that Vanilla Strawberry hydrangeas can be grafted onto a trunk and you could have a hydrangea tree?

You can change the color of your hydrangea. It all depends on the pH levels of the soil the flowers are living in. The more acidic the ground is, the bluer the flower will be. The more alkaline in the ground, the pinker the flowers will be, just like a pH test strip.
