Apple Blossoms


Apples are everywhere in Michigan. It is, after all, the third-largest producer of apples in the U.S. The reason behind this lies in the famous John Chapman, also known as Johnny Appleseed. Many think the legend of this planter of apples is merely a myth, but he was indeed a real person. His mission was to provide sustenance for the pioneers moving west. He planted trees all throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.

  • Apple blossoms, are the state flower of Michigan as well as Arkansas.

  • Canada hosts two apple blossom festivals every year.

  • Different varieties of apples have different colored blossoms.

  • Each blossom has five petals.
